Winners of our 2025 Euroscola Competition

We are delighted to announce the winners of our Euroscola competition on the topic ‘Safeguarding European Democracy’. The winning schools will travel to the European Parliament in Strasbourg in 2026 to represent Ireland at Euroscola.

This year’s competition invited students in the European Parliament Ambassador School programme (EPAS) to create a 1-minute YouTube video showing how they can help protect European democracy across the EU.  We received a diverse range of entries - including rap songs, role play sketches, news reports - that explored fact-checking, the role of AI in disinformation, the importance of voting, and key threats to democracy along with practical ways to address them.  We were truly impressed by the clear effort students put into researching the European Democracy Shield, as well as their strong creativity and technical skills.

A sincere congratulations to all the students and teachers who produced these thoughtful and engaging videos.

One winning school and one runner-up was selected from each of Ireland’s three European constituencies. Another six schools were highly commended for their entries.

Winners and runners-up will travel to the European Parliament in Strasbourg during 2026 and experience a day as an MEP at Euroscola. They will join their peers from across Europe, engaging in the EU decision-making process through debates, negotiating with their colleagues, voting and adopting resolutions on topical European issues.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s competition.
