.png)
The Irish language is undergoing a significant revival, in part driven by the arts, including poetry. The European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages encourages the use of minority languages. Poetry is an area where such languages are flourishing. Our panel will look at issues like writing in a minority language, working between two languages, and all-important translation.
Annemarie Ni Churreáin, Irish poet who writes in English and Irish and has expertise in indigenous languages.
Martín Veiga, Galician poet, translator and Director of the Galician Centre in UCC.
Moderator and participant: Keith Payne, Irish poet who translates from Gallego.
