European elections: Educational Toolkit

Discover our European elections educational toolkit for teachers and educators to help explain to young people the benefits of the European Union, the role of the European Parliament and the importance of voting.

In 2024, EU citizens will vote in the European elections for the 10th time, to decide who will represent them in the European Parliament.  For many young people under the age of 24, this will be the first time they vote to elect a Member of the European Parliament.

To help them prepare for this date, we have developed a toolkit to provide easy access to educational resources that will help you explain to young people the benefits of the European Union, the role of the European Parliament and the importance of voting.

The resources will help you create a space for young people to make themselves heard, share ideas or ask questions, such as:

• Why should I care about voting?
• How does the EU impact my life?
• What is the role of the European Parliament and how does it work?
• Once I have voted, how can I continue to make my voice heard?
• How can I inform myself properly and identify misleading or false information?
• How can I take action?

The toolkit is available in all 24 official EU languages.
