Join us at Europa Experience Dublin for a special screening of Mrs Robinson, the acclaimed documentary about Mary Robinson, Ireland’s first female President and a pioneering and lifelong advocate for human rights and gender equality. The event marks the European Parliament’s Gender Equality Week 2026 and celebrates Mary Robinson’s recognition as a laureate of the inaugural European Order of Merit this year. Following the screening, there will be a discussion and Q&A with:
- Aoife Kelleher, director of Mrs Robinson;
- Aldagh McDonogh, Chairperson of Women for Election; and
- Angela Mezzetti, creator and presenter of the Women in Leadership podcast, who will moderate the discussion.
This is a unique opportunity to revisit the life and achievements of one of Ireland’s most influential public figures and reflect on her enduring impact on equality, leadership and human rights. Admission is free, but spaces are limited.
Organised to mark European Gender Equality week 2026. Every year Parliament holds a Gender Equality Week to take stock of achievements and identify new measures to advance girls' and women's rights and ensure gender equality. Events are organised by Parliament's committees, delegations, political groups and administration. The first edition was held in 2020, on the initiative of Parliament's Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee.
In 2026, European Gender Equality Week will focus on women in leadership. The main event is a discussion on how women in leadership shape the change and inspire the next generation of leaders.
Date and time: 9 November at 18:00
